Social Services
- Provides clothing and food for people with
disabilities.
- Advocates for the social and educational needs of
people with disabilities.
- Disaster zone disabled children’s social service
project, 1995
Sports and Camps
- Since 1989, has organised 20 summer and winter sport
camps attended by more than 2000 people.
- Sports include swimming, sailing, weightlifting,
archery, basketball, tennis, skiing and so on.
- Provides year-round athletic training to people with
disabilities.
- Sponsored participation in Russian Disabled Alpine
skiing Open championship, 1992
- Sponsored participation in Russian Disabled Table
Tennis Open championship, 1993
- Sponsored participation in 1994, 1995 World and
European Disabled Sailing Championships in England and
Spain.
- Sponsored participation in European Disabled
Powerlifting championship in Budapest in 1993
- Organised the First Armenian Disabled Olympics in
1994.
- Sponsored participation in Disabled Table Tennis
championship in Danemark, 1995.
- Sponsored Armenian disabled sportsmen’s
participation in 1996 Summer Paralympic Games in
Atlanta.
- Sponsored 8th annual wheelchair marathon
from Yerevan to Echmiadzin.
- Organisation of Armenian part of Sankt Petersburg -
Almaty supermarathon (9000km)
- Participation in Chicago marathon, 1996.
- Participation in ascent to Mount Kazbek (5047m).
- Implementation of “Mentally retarded children’s
sport-rehabilitation project” in Kharbert, 1996, funded
by UNHCR and Catholic Relief Services.
- Participation in 1998 Winter Paralympic Games in
Nagano, Japan. Participation in Alpine ski events.
- Participation in the 1998 World Disabled Sailing
Championships in Newport, Rhode Island.
- Participation in the 1998 World Disabled Archery
Championships in Aylesbury, England.
- Participation in the 1998 World Disabled Power
lifting Championships in Dubi, United Arab Emirates.
- Participation in the 1999 World Disabled Sailing
Championship in Cadiz, Spain.
Public Education and
Disabled Rights Protection Projects
- Disabled Right and Information Center of Armenia.
Started in 1996, funded by Norwegian Refugee Council and
OXFAM.
- Human Rights and Disabled Persons. Started in 1997,
funded by US Embassy
- Supporting Armenia’s Disabled. Public Education and
Awareness Building. Started in 1997, funded by Armenian
Assembly’s NGO Center.
Vocational Training
- Computer Training Center for the Disabled. Started
in 1996, funded by Canadian Embassy.
- Training of the disabled to become Prosthetic
technicians.
Prosthetic services
- Provide free of charge prosthetic limbs to civilians
disabled as a result of the war in Kharabagh. Funds for
this project “Rehabilitation of Civilian War Victims of
Armenia” is provided by USAID, World Rehabilitation Fund
and Save the Children Foundation.
- Provide free of charge prosthetic services to
Armenian National Paralympic team.
